After seeing no manatees at Manatee Springs State Park, which is known for their manatee population, we get down to the lower keys near Bahia Honda State Park, and there have been 2 manatees in our campground’s marina. They are not overly exciting to watch…they float and they breath, that is about it, but there is something majestic about them anyway. Maybe it is their fragile existence and the “hands off” expectation that makes them fascinating to watch. That was very much understood by the battle wounds one of the manatees had sustained on its back and tail. I wanted to share the experience with you though, through a couple of pictures took with my phone. I hope to get some better quality photos while we are here. Hope you enjoy them.
